About the course
This course concerns the principles and potential of fusion energy as a future power source. You will study the basics of fusion, plasma physics, and the mechanisms of magnetic confinement with an emphasis on tokamak physics. The course also introduces fusion-fission hybrids and their role in bridging current and future energy systems. Special attention is given to the integration of fusion energy into electricity networks, addressing both large- and small-scale production challenges. The environmental and technical aspects of fusion energy are explored in the context of sustainable energy solutions.
