Tuition fees terms and conditions

As outlined in Section 12 of the Ordinance on application fees and tuition fees at higher education institutions, (2010:543), by paying the tuition fee, the student acknowledges and agrees to the following terms and conditions:

Tuition fees coverage

As a fee-paying student, the student is responsible for paying the tuition fees for all courses they are registered for. The tuition fee for a programme student covers studies amounting to 30 credits per semester. The fee does not cover other costs related to admission or studies at Uppsala University, such as accommodation, meals, or study materials. If the student wishes to register for additional courses, they must pay for these as well.

Refund

Refund of the tuition fee is only possible if the student is prevented from participating in the programme or courses due to extraordinary circumstances. If the student's residence permit application is rejected and this prevents them from starting the programme, the fee will be refunded upon request.

Please note that refund are always made to the account used for the original payment.

Due to international regulations, Swedish universities are currently unable to transfer money to Iran. Refunds will always be issued to the same account from which the payment was originally made. We recommend choosing a payment method that allows for refunds, if necessary.

Refund policy

Payment regulations

The student must pay the tuition fee by the deadlines set by Uppsala University. The fee for upcoming semesters must be paid one semester at a time. If the student fails to pay the tuition fee, they will be placed on academic suspension and will no longer be allowed to participate in any courses.

How do I pay?

Study plan

As a fee-paying student at Uppsala University, the student must follow the study plan for the programme and be registered for 30 credits per semester. If the student needs to make any changes to the study plan, they must contact the programme coordinator.

The courses taken should align with the established programme syllabus, and the studies should be pursued at Uppsala University or, if specified in the programme syllabus, at another institution of higher education.

Changed status

The student must inform Uppsala University if their status changes, such as regarding citizenship, and submit documentation that certifies the change.

Previously obtained credits

If the student has previously obtained credits that can be applied to their degree, it may be possible to pay a reduced tuition fee for the final semester. The student should contact their programme coordinator and the tuition fee coordinators to discuss available options.

Study leave and exchange studies

The student is not required to pay the tuition fee during an approved study leave, but they must inform the Swedish Migration Agency that they will not be studying. If the student wishes to apply for a leave of absence, they should contact their department.

It may be possible for the student to participate in exchange courses during their time at Uppsala University. The student should contact their department to learn if their programme offers exchange opportunities. The student will still be required to pay the regular tuition fee for the duration of the exchange.
