External funding opportunities
In addition to Uppsala University scholarships, fee-paying international students may be eligible for financial aid from external organisations. These scholarships have different application processes, deadlines, and criteria. Uppsala University does not manage them.

Programme-specific funding
There may be funding options available for those studying a specific programme, or for those who meet certain other criteria. Please see below to check if any of the options apply to you.
Rotary World Peace Fellowship
The Rotary World Peace Fellowship is open for students applying to the Master's Programme in Peace and Conflict Studies.
SI Scholarship for Global Professionals
The Swedish Institute (SI), a government agency, has a number of scholarships open for students from countries outside the EU/EEA area. Depending on your nationality and field of study, the scholarships may apply to you. The SI scholarships cover both tuition fee and living expenses to the amount of 12,000 SEK per month for studies at Master's level. A travel grant is also issued to the recipient. Please note that you must have submitted an application for a Master's programme in Sweden at universityadmissions.se before applying for the SI Scholarship.

Canada
Canadian student aid programmes – Education Loans
Uppsala University is recognised by Canadian tax authorities and eligible for Canadian student aid programmes. Canadian students can use government loans to fund their studies at Uppsala University.
Colombia
Colfuturo – Scholarships & Education Loans
Uppsala University is recognised by Colfuturo, a Colombian organisation that provides financial support for Colombian students pursuing postgraduate studies abroad. The organisation offers a combination of scholarships and loans to help cover tuition and living expenses.
India
WeMakeScholars – Scholarships & Education Loans
WeMakeScholars is an initiative supported by the Ministry of IT, Government of India, providing free assistance to students seeking scholarships and education loans for studies abroad.
Education Future Foundation – Scholarship
The Education Future Foundation offers the Education Future International Scholarship, which is open to Indian students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate studies abroad, including in Sweden.
Indonesia
Lpdp – Scholarships & Education Loans
The LPDP Scholarship offers financial support to Indonesian citizens for postgraduate studies at top universities worldwide, including Uppsala University. LPDP provides full scholarships covering tuition and living expenses, as well as partial scholarships.
Mexico
FIDERH – Scholarship
The Fondo para el Desarrollo de Recursos Humanos (FIDERH) is a federal trust managed by the Bank of Mexico, designed to finance graduate studies for Mexican students. Uppsala University is recognised by FIDERH, meaning Mexican students can use this funding option to support their graduate studies at Uppsala University.
Peru
Pronabec – Scholarships & Education Loans
The Programa Nacional de Becas y Crédito Educativo provides scholarships and educational loans to talented Peruvian students with limited financial resources. This program supports access to quality higher education, helping students complete their studies.
