Aims
This course aims to give basic knowledge in the
mechanical behaviour of metallic materials.
Emphasis is put on the understanding of the
physical background of plasticity, i.e. the
influence of defects on macroscopic deformation of
materials.
Content
Dislocation configurations, kinetics and dynamics. Relationships between internal structure and mechanical properties. Plastic deformation, hardening mechanisms, fracture, fatigue and creep.

3. Creep
Instruction
Lectures, lessons and laboratory work.
Assessment
Written examination at the end of the course. Passed laboratory course is also required.
