General provisions

The content, length and level of the education are regulated by chapter 1, section 9 of the Higher Education Act 1 (1992:1434), by the Higher Education Ordinance (1993:100), and by the Ordinance on changes to the Higher Education Ordinance (2006:1053).

Entry requirements

Passed courses in term 4 and at least 15 credit points passed courses in term 5.

Learning outcomes

After finishing the course, the students should be able to

* understand, describe and practice

- the methodology of the most commonly occurring examinations within computed tomography, emergency- and paediatric examinations

- preparations and nursing in connection to computed tomography examinations

- Properties, drug administration, adverse drug reactions, contra-indications and caution when using contrast media and other drugs related to above mentioned examinations

* during clinical training participate in

- information, preparation, assessment, measures, treatment, evaluation, documentation of computed tomography, paediatric- and emergency X-ray examinations

* during clinical training under supervision

- prepare for and perform the most commonly occurring examinations within computed tomography, paediatric- and emergency X-ray examinations

- show professionalism to patients and family members

- handle existing equipment and other medical technical devices

- apply existing radiation protection measures

- handle and administer drug

* during clinical training reflect on

- ethical perspectives including autonomy and integrity regarding patients and family members

Theoretical studies: 1.5 credit points

Lectures, seminarier and specific study assignments.

Clinical training: 13.5 credit points

Clinical training, study assignments, seminars

Assessment

Examinations are arranged continuously during the course, as written and oral presentations.

Assessment of performance and passed achievements in clinical work.

Students failing clinical training have the right to participate in renewed clinical training, one more time.
