Entry requirements
Bachelor of Science (i.e. three years of full-time studies), including 90 credits in Chemistry.
Learning outcomes
After completion the course, the student should be able to
- present theoretical knowledge necessary for studies at the advanced level within analytical chemistry
- independently plan laboratory work and carry out risk assessment
- evaluate experiments by means of established methods
- keep laboratory record and write laboratory reports
- give an error estimate in received analytical results
- compare results from different methods
Content
Overview of spectroscopic and chromatographic methods theoretically and practically. Overview of relevant statistical methods.
Instruction
Lectures and/or seminars, laboratory work. The laboratory sessions are compulsory.
Assessment
Written examination is organised at the end of the course and correspond to 2.5 HE credits. The laboratory sessions including presentations correspond to 2.5 HE credits. The final grade is received such as a joining of the results of the written examination and the laboratory sessions.
