General provisions

Master programme course- track Master in Sustainable Management

Entry requirements

A Bachelor's degree equivalent to a Swedish degree of at least 180 credits with at least 90 credits in business studies. Proficiency in English. This is normally attested by means of an internationally recognised test such as TOEFL or IELTS.

Learning outcomes

Having completed the course, students are expected to be able to:

• Show an in-depth knowledge of methodology in business administration

• Be able to design and conduct an empirical/field study

• Understand the heterogeneity of research methods (such as focus groups, interviews, observation, surveys) and analyse different business research methods on the object of study

• Plan their own field research within the overall topic of the programme.

Content

The course introduces fundamental philosophical discussions within social science and treats key concepts in business and management research methods. The course gives students an in-depth knowledge of methods in business administration and prepare the students to conduct qualified field research. The course is based on lectures and seminars by active researchers. Students will get hands-on experience through individual and group tasks of conducting and writing research.

Instruction

The course consists of compulsory seminars, lectures and tutoring. The language of instruction is English

Assessment

Your performance in the course will be evaluated on the basis on individual as well as group assignments. Class participation will be taken into account (the course grades are Pass with distinction (VG), Pass (G) or Fail (U))
