Learning outcomes
The course is for students with other mother tongue than Swedish who want to increase their skills in oral proficiency in the Swedish language.
Upon completing the component, students will
- be able to talk Swedish with a grammatically satisfactory language for this level as well as with an adequate vocabulary and pronunciation
- be able to prepare, structure and present various types of oral presentations
- show knowledge of basic concepts of Swedish phonetics/phonology
Content
The module consists of exercises in talking in different situations, exercises in Swedish pronunciation, Swedish prosody and overview of the Swedish sound systems as well as exercises in perceiving and retelling Swedish speech.
Instruction
The instruction is given in the form of lectures and group instruction (partly in learning lab). Compulsory parts occur.
Assessment
Students who do not achieve a passing grade on the regular examination will have another opportunity to take the examination within a reasonable period of time after the regular examination. A student who has failed a test two times has by applying to the head of department possibility at one's own request to change examiner or examination format.
Other regulations
The course may not be included in a degree if equivalent parts have been studied within another course included in the degree.
