ATMP Center Uppsala
ATMP stands for Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products and is a collective name for medicines for advanced therapies based on living materials such as cells, tissues or genes.
ATMP Center Uppsala is a collaboration between Uppsala University, Uppsala University Hospital and Region Uppsala. ATMP Center Uppsala serves as a focal point for the organisations working with ATMPs at Uppsala University Hospital and the University, as well as the support functions that can guide and assist in the development or introduction of new ATMPs.
As a researcher, you can contact the ATMP Center if you are interested in translating your research into clinical practice, for example conducting a clinical trial, so that it can benefit patients.
The centre also plans to establish a GMP-certified manufacturing unit for its own production of ATMPs. (GMP stands for Good Manufacturing Practice.)
