Short presentation
Jason focuses on the relationship between strategy, risk management and reporting in financial and other institutions and he is particularly interested in the cognitive aspects of judgement and decision-making. He is part of a cross-disciplinary research group working on "AI and Financial Markets", is a member of ERRN, has received the Wallander Scholarship and the Hans Dalborg Award, is financed by several Swedish research foundations, and publishes in academic journals and edited volumes.
Biography
Jason Crawford is an assistant professor at the Department of Business Studies in Uppsala, specialising in accounting. His research is broadly focused on regulation, strategy, risk management, and management control systems in the financial and other industries. He was awarded the Wallander Scholarship for his Ph.D. in 2018 and is currently involved in a number of research projects that are generously financed by Swedish research foundations. He is currently a member of a cross-disciplinary research group engaged in a project titled AI and the Financial Markets: Accountability and Risk Management with Legal Tools, as well as other European-based research groups, e.g., the European Risk Research Network (ERRN) and the Management Control Association (MCA). He has published his work in academic journals, e.g., IJMR, and in edited volumes, e.g., Routledge and Springer Nature. His latest work focuses on the cognitive aspects of risk management in particular. With a passion for pedagogy, he teaches several courses both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and has, in the past, created student support programmes for international students.
