Short presentation

Jason Crawford is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Business Studies and associated researcher at Uppsala University Conflicting Objectives Research Nexus (UUniCORN). His research focuses on the relationship between strategy, risk management and reporting in financial sector firms with specific focus on AI, cognition, and sustainability. He is part of a cross-disciplinary research group "AI and Financial Markets", is a member of ERRN, and received the Hans Dalborg Award in 2024.

Biography

Jason Crawford is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Business Studies and associated researcher at Uppsala University Conflicting Objectives Research Nexus (UUniCORN) Uppsala. His research is broadly focused on regulation, strategy, control, and reporting in the financial industry, with specific focus on AI, cognition, and sustainability. In 2024, he received the Hans Dalborg Award for Excellence in Research in Financial Economics, and the Wallander Scholarship in 2018. As well as being a member of European-based research and practitioner groups, e.g., the Swedish Risk Managers Association (SWERMA), the European Risk Research Network (ERRN), and the Management Control Association (MCA), he is also a member of a cross-disciplinary research group engaged in a project with the title “AI and the Financial Markets: Accountability and Risk Management with Legal Tools”. His work has been published in academic journals, and in edited volumes.
