Short presentation
I am a docent and researcher in organization theory at Uppsala University's Department of Business Studies and Department of Public Health and Caring Sciences. I am also a senior lecturer in organization theory at Mälardalen University's School of Business, Society, and Engineering.
Biography
I study the ways that various relationships within and among organizations are constructed to affect change and stability throughout societal sectors. My research straddles political, economic, and sociological issues with a particular focus on the construction of relationships through which status is created, competition is generated, and knowledge is disseminated in and between public sector organizations, such as universities, nursing homes, primary care centers, and upper secondary schools. I show how these relationships spawn different—and, at times, disproportionate—flows of material and immaterial resources that engender major consequences for actors within and among the affected organizations. This research is important for scholars, policy makers, and organizational members alike because it highlights the necessity and possibility to shape and reshape relationships that promote an equitable distribution of resources throughout contemporary society.
My teaching encompasses a wide span of topics associated with managing organizations, including strategy, leadership, and communication. I have held course director roles on multiple occasions, and my supervision experience ranges from undergraduate theses in marketing and innovation, to graduate theses in auditing and finance. Currently, I am supervising a doctoral student and mentoring a postdoctoral researcher at Mälardalen University' School of Business, Society, and Technology.
Please refer to my curriculum vitae (June 2025) for further details about the research and teaching I conduct.
