Biography

I grew up in Crimea, Ukraine, and studied physics at Simferopol University. I earned my PhD in astrophysics at Uppsala University, followed by postdoctoral appointments at the University of Vienna and NORDITA. I later returned to Uppsala University, first as an assistant professor and subsequently as an associate and then full professor, where I now lead research in stellar magnetism and variability.

Research

I investigate magnetic fields and associated activity phenomena, such as star spots, on the surfaces stars. My scientific interests and research expertise include the physics of stars, instrumentation for high-resolution spectroscopy and spectropolarimetry, and computer methods for modelling stellar intensity and polarisation spectra.
