Biography

Carin Eriksson Lindvall, Associate Professor of Business Administration with a specialization in organization, change, leadership and career.

Carin serves as the head of Uppsala University’s central unit Career and Leadership in Academia. Previously, she has been head of the unit Kompetensforum, head of department at the university’s pedagogical development division, CEO of the consulting firm IPF, and worked as a leadership consultant in both the private and public sectors. In an earlier position as Senior Lecturer at Uppsala University, Carin taught organization and leadership—primarily as the main instructor for courses in organizational psychology/organizational behavior. Carin has also been a visiting researcher at Stanford University, USA.

Carin’s research primarily focuses on issues related to change, leadership, and career. She has written about drivers and barriers in change processes, the role of emotions in organizations, and leadership from various perspectives. Of particular interest are questions related to work and careers—what creates functional, creative, and developmental work environments? What fosters motivation at work?

In her role as a leadership developer, she has worked with leadership training, group development, and individual coaching. Carin has been responsible for numerous leadership programs both within and outside the university (in the private sector and public administration), as well as internationally in European collaborations. A special emphasis has been placed on pedagogical approaches that engage and develop participants.

Carin Eriksson Lindvall also has training in psychotherapy with a psychodynamic orientation, as well as certification in coaching and supervision.
