For many years it has been a tradition for new Nobel Laureates to be invited to Uppsala University to give open lectures during Nobel Week.

13 December, 10:00–12:10: Nobel Lecture in Physiology or Medicine

Open lecture by the 2025 Nobel Laureates in Physiology or Medicine: Frederick J. Ramsdell, Sonoma Biotherapeutics, USA; Mary E. Brunkow, Institute for Systems Biology, USA; and Shimon Sakaguchi, The University of Osaka, Japan.

13 December, 10:15–12:10: Nobel Lecture in Chemistry

Open lecture by the 2025 Nobel Laureates in Chemistry: Susumu Kitagawa, Kyoto University, Japan, and Omar M. Yaghi, University of California, USA.

13 December, 10:15–11:50: Nobel Lecture in Economics

Open lecture by this year's recipient of the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, Philippe Aghion, Collège de France, INSEAD, France, and London School of Economics and Political Science, United Kingdom.

Information about the lecture halls

The lectures will be held at BMC, in the University Main Building and at Ekonomikum. See each lecture for detailed location information.

The lectures attract many visitors and the smaller lecture halls fill up quickly, so please arrive in good time. Seats must be taken no later than 15 minutes before the lecture starts. Please note that large bags are not allowed in the lecture halls.
