The Anders Wall scholarships for studies at Uppsala University have existed since 2012 and are intended for fee-paying international students. It is now clear that the scholarship programme will be extended for another four years.

“This is very pleasing news, which strengthens the long-standing cooperation between Uppsala University and the Beijer Foundation,” says Vice-Chancellor Anders Hagfeldt.

The scholarship is jointly financed by the Beijer Foundation and the University. Since the 2022 round, the scholarship has been earmarked for applicants from Africa. The scholarship covers all tuition fees for a Master’s or Bachelor’s programme at Uppsala University.

Since its launch in 2012, the scholarship programme has funded the education of more than 150 students. There are currently 25 scholarship holders active at the University.

Gathered for a winter coffee reception

On 6 February the current scholarship holders gathered for a winter coffee reception in the University Main Building, together with the Vice-Chancellor and representatives of the Beijer Foundation. The meeting was an opportunity to strengthen the ties between the scholarship holders, the University and the Foundation, and to exchange experiences and cultural perspectives.

“Our good, long-standing cooperation with the Beijer Foundation is an important part of the University’s efforts to make education possible for international students from all around the world,” says Hagfeldt.
