Cheating and plagiarism

You can use this online procedure to report suspected deception in examination. In case of suspicion of unauthorised collaboration, you can report up to ten students in this form.

Report of suspected deception in examination

Uppsala University has well-defined procedures for both preventing and dealing with suspected deception in connection with assessments and examinations. Deception in connection with assessments and examinations may involve cheating, plagiarism or unauthorised collaboration. University-wide procedures for such misconduct are essential for quality assurance and legal certainty. Our intention is that all students, as far as possible, will receive the same information about the rules and be treated in the same way regardless of which department or faculty they belong to.

Routine for dealing with suspected deceptive conduct in examinations

If a student is suspended, the suspension takes effect immediately, normally on the day after the Disciplinary Board’s decision.

The decision on suspension only applies at Uppsala University, not at any other higher education institution. It means that the suspended student loses access to all teaching-related aspects of their University studies and to their student account, as long as they are suspended. Suspended students are allowed access to general university premises and help desks and service points that are open to the general public.
