UKÄ Evaluation
National quality assurance system
The national quality assurance system includes four components (different types of assessments):
- Reviews of higher education institutions’ quality assurance procedures
- A selection of study programme evaluations
- Thematic evaluations
- Appraisals of entitlement to award qualifications (only applies to vocational degrees at UU or if entitlement to award qualifications is revoked)

Within the national quality assurance system, higher education institutions themselves are responsible for evaluating and assuring the quality of their study programmes. UKÄ conduct reviews of higher education institutions´quality assurance procedures.

Support connected to UKÄ´s reviews
The unit for quality and evaluation provides support in relation to UKÄ´s evaluations:
- Information about the national system for quality assurance and UKÄ´s evaluations
- Support in relation to UKÄ’s evaluations (information, feedback on self-evaluations, action plans and action reports)
- Surveys as a basis for information and decision making
- An ongoing dialogue with UKÄ
