About the course
Free electron laser physics; undulator radiation, theory of beam wave interaction in a free electron laser (FEL), optical beams and controlled modes, x-ray optics, FEL oscillators and high power amplification of a FEL, SASE FEL and methods to improve the coherence, photon diagnostics. FEL applications: long wavelength FEL, x-ray FEL, atomic and molecular physics, physics at high energy density, x-ray diffraction, biological applications and ultrafast x-ray science.
