About the course
The course gives you knowledge on social and economic processes that influence how technology for renewable energy, especially chemistry-based technology for energy conversion and storage, is used by various groups in society. We discuss, e.g., green gentrification, energy poverty, planetary boundaries and Jevons' paradox. Societal systems effects of renewable energy technologies are discussed: How can chemistry-based technologies for renewable energy be developed so that they lead to social and economic sustainability?
