The Department of History
Here the research covers a vast period from the Middle Ages right up to the present time. The research focuses on the appreciation and understanding of the late Medieval and Early Modern world (roughly 1350-1850), European history and how it is critical for understanding today's social and political problems as well as the history and memory of the Holocaust.
The Department of Archaeology and Ancient History
This department houses different research projects in the areas of archaeology, classical archaeology, global archaeology and Egyptology. Archaeology works with prehistoric and historic material, with a focus on theory and the history of the discipline of archaeology as well as cultural historical perspectives. Several projects deal with the interaction between material culture and oral and written sources, and how our concept of prehistory changes over time.
