How did you choose your programme?
– I was sure I wanted to do something related to nature/ecology and Uppsala is well known for the quality of education, so I thought why not...
What is it like to be an international student?
– It is a very unique experience! You feel a bit outside of your comfort zone, but you make strong bonds and you find new families in your friendships.
What is the best thing about studying at Uppsala University?
– Outstanding quality of education and fun student life are the first two things that pop into my head!
Do you remember your first impression of Uppsala? Please tell us!
– I first came to Uppsala as an Erasmus student in the spring -very important- and I naturally fell in love with the place. Nature was extraordinarily beautiful and so easily accessible, making everyday life so much better!
Name three things you are doing this week!
– Ok let's see… I am planning some follow-up experiments for my thesis project, I am working at the student nation as a pub host and I am attending a gasque!
What is your reason for studying, or your ultimate goal?
– Learning new things has always been very exciting to me, so what's better than a master's degree? Also, I would like to continue working in academia, so I will probably keep studying for a long time.
Describe the student life.
– For me, student life was a balance between studying something that I love and being active in the student nations. I studied a lot for my courses and participated in some fun projects, while at the same time I was working at my nation's pub. While I started working purely to finance my life here, I earned so much more, as I had a really good time and made loads of friends!
Three quick questions:
What is your favourite place in Uppsala?
– The fields that lead to the forest of Håga look enchanting no matter the season, so probably I will choose those.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
– That is so far from now to tell … Probably somewhere in Europe finishing my PhD?
Where is the best place to study?
– So many options to choose from ... I will go with the library of EBC, which always feels cosy and whenever you need a break you can spend it in the museum of evolution. A win-win situation!
