Religious Studies

Religious studies is the multidisciplinary academic field that studies religious beliefs, practices, movements and institutions in history and the present.

The Department of Theology has two Bachelor's programmes: Bachelor's Programme in Theology with the specialisations Christianity Past and Present and Islam Past and Present, and the Bachelor's Programme in Religious Studies. In addition, we provide many freestanding courses on campus and distance learning that offer you as a student a wide range of choices. You can choose to study religion and worldview research from historical, theological, biblical, sociological, ethical or philosophical perspectives.

We also provide six Master's programmes in Theology and Religious Studies, Human Rights, Religion in Peace and Conflict, International Humanitarian Action, Humanitarian Action and Conflict, and Euroculture. These give you the opportunity for further specialisation.
