Entry requirements
Fulfilment of the requirements for a Bachelor's degree with Turkish as the main field of study.
Learning outcomes
After having taken this course a student is expected to have acquired the following knowledge and abilities:
- to describe the European Turkic languages, their geographical distribution och social status,
- to give an account of the history and culture of the Turkic speaking groups in Europe, and
- to describe the Europeanisation of the Turkic literatures in modern times.
Content
The course gives an introduction into the European Turkic languages and cultures.
Instruction
Instruction is normally given on distance via cooperation between several universities participating in the Erasmus program. The student’s own learning activities are of crucial importance for work in the course.
Assessment
Students demonstrate the results of their learning through a combination of examination components. These components may be oral or written. They may take place during scheduled sessions (e.g. as part of regular instruction) or by special appointment with the teacher. Rules about this will be stated at the start of the course.
