Biografi

Denna text finns inte på svenska, därför visas den engelska versionen.

I am a clinician-researcher dedicated to improving healthcare standards and advancing maternal and sexual reproductive health in developing countries, including Tanzania. As a senior obstetrician-gynecologist at the National Referral Hospital—a leading teaching hospital for medical universities—I also serve as a clinical senior lecturer.

My research focuses on interventional studies, including clinical audit-feedback and designing complex interventions to continuously assess and improve healthcare services using locally feasible methods. I am particularly interested in leveraging routinely collected data and E-health solutions to strengthen health systems and better respond to the needs of care providers, patients, and communities.

In community and global health research, I focus on evaluating and guiding actionable strategies to improve public health, particularly preventive care for vulnerable groups like women and children. Additionally, I explore the role of nature-based environmental solutions in healthcare and adaptive measures against global warming in developing countries.

These communities often face high rates of maternal and newborn morbidity and mortality, limited access to reproductive healthcare, and dysfunctional systems for screening and managing the rising burden of non-communicable diseases (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, lipid disorders, and cancer). These challenges are further compounded by social, environmental, and economic barriers, alongside the adverse effects of climate change.

The interconnectedness of maternal and sexual reproductive health, non-communicable diseases, and the health-related impacts of climate change inspires my commitment to developing healthcare interventions. I emphasize engaging both providers and communities in identifying health challenges and co-creating practical, locally relevant solutions.
