Kort presentation
Hennes forskning berör mekanismer för kemikalie-inducerad toxicitet i olika experimentella system in vivo och in vitro.

The main research interest has been to study mechanisms of harmful effects of environmental pollutants, herbicides, carcinogens, and pharmaceuticals in various experimental systems in vivo and in vitro. For instance, she has examined cytochrome P450-catalyzed bioactivation of pharmaceuticals and toxicants and identified some novel potent toxicants in the upper respiratory tract. The studies have been based on both imaging techniques (histopathology, immunohistochemistry, autoradiography) and various in vitro-methods.
Presently she is studying
- neurodegenerative changes in the adult brain following early life exposure to toxicants
- effects of toxicants in cultured neuronal cells
- intranasal administration of therapeutic agents to the brain
