Christine Holmström Lind is Associate Professor in International Business and former Director of Advanced Studies at the Department of Business Studies at Uppsala University. Christine received her Ph.D. at the Department of Business Studies, and the research was concerned with the strategic role of multinational subsidiaries as creators and disseminators of knowledge and innovations. More recent research concerns international market strategies of firms and sustainable business strategies. Christine was awarded the Wallander-scholarship for excellent Ph.D. thesis in 2006.
Christine has teaching experience in International Business, International Marketing, Industrial Marketing, and within the field of CSR and Sustainability. Prior to her doctoral studies she worked as CRM manager and corporate (senior) market analyst.
Recent research revolves around international business strategies and sustainable business strategies. One specific research project relates to the role of MNCs in social value added activities and social innovation. Another research project concerns the process and determinants behind HQs approval or rejection of so called subsidiary initiatives.
She has been engaged as an ad-hoc reviewer for several international business journals, and she is a member of the European International Business Association and the Academy of International Business. She is also part of Uppsala University’s Centre for Research on Innovation and Industrial Dynamics (CIND).
