Biografi
Johan Tralau, född 1972, är professor i statskunskap. Han forskar om idéer om tidens och rättvisans ursprung hos Hesiodos och i annan grekisk, mesopotamisk och hettitisk litteratur och och myt, om den politiska filosofins ursprung i antikens Grekland, om vad tolkningar egentligen tolkar, om saffran i grekisk poesi och verklighet, liksom om hövlighet. För sina skrifter om den grekiska antiken erhöll han 2013 Johan Lundblad-priset från Svenska Akademien. Han har varit programledare för Kanon-TV och medverkar regelbundet i dagspress och tidskrifter. En gång i tiden blev han svensk mästare i amerikansk fotboll med Stockholm Mean Machines. I 2024 utkom hans senaste bok, Myten om tidens början, som handlar om tid, Hesiodos, grekiska och hettitiska myter och rättvisans födelse. 2021 var han gästföreläsare vid Collège de France, och 2022 vid Centro Antropologia del Mondo Antico, Università di Siena. Han är för närvarande gästforskare vid laboratoriet Cultures – Environnements. Préhistoire, Antiquité, Moyen Âge, Université Côte d'Azur, Nice.
