Behörighetskrav

Kandidatexamen om 120 p/180 hp. Minst 40 p/60 hp i ämnet Företagsekonomi. All undervisning sker på Engelska varför mycket goda språkkunskaper i engelska är en förutsättning för att kunna tillgodogöra sig utbildningen.

Mål

1. To develop your capacity to understand and discuss different methodological and scientific starting points.

2. To build your skills in analysis and discussion of different empirical and theoretical phenomena.

3. To give you hands-on experience in identifying research problems and in analyzing these problems based on various perspectives.

4. To develop your capacity to carry out scientific research.

5. To enable you to communicate the results of your research in speech and writing.

6. To heighten your awareness of the consequences of the choices you make when formulating your question, and collecting and analyzing data.

Innehåll

Within the framework of the thesis, you will explore different ways of finding information, defining the scope of a project and doing research, as well as different ways of communicating the results. The thesis work includes defining a problem, discussing method and theoretical approach, collecting information, presenting your thesis and writing and rewriting your thesis. Students will work in pairs to write the thesis.

Undervisning

The course is given in English. You will work in pairs to do most of the assignments. The course consists of compulsory seminars and tutoring.

Examination

Your performance in the course will be evaluated mainly on the basis of the final thesis, but class participation and thesis defence are also taken into account.A grade of VG (pass with distinction, or A and B according to the ECTS scale) will be awarded only if your thesis is discussed at the final seminar, and if your thesis is revised no later than three days after the final seminar. If the revised version is not passed, you have another three months to make the revisions. A thesis that is not passed within three months after the final seminar will receive an F grade. In that event, the thesis will have to be rewritten in a new group with a new tutor. The right to tutoring ends with the final seminar. Swedish grades U, G and Vg are supplemented by ECTS grades A,B,C,D,E and F. You will find details about grading in the syllabus.
