Precision Medicine Centre Uppsala

The Precision Medicine Centre Uppsala (PMCU) is a collaboration between Uppsala University Hospital, Region Uppsala and Uppsala University. PMCU is a virtual centre and a focal point for organisations working in this area in Uppsala.

The purpose of the centre is to ensure that patients benefit from precision diagnostics and precision treatment. By means of cross-cutting research and innovation, we contribute to the development and implementation of new solutions in health and medical care.

Precision medicine, or personalised care, is a relatively new but increasingly important concept in healthcare. Precision medicine encompasses diagnostics, treatment and monitoring that make it possible to give patients care that is tailored to individual conditions.
