Centre for Chemical Mechanisms of Life (CML)
The centre for Chemical Mechanisms of Life (CML) is an open multi-disciplinary centre of excellence with the goal of fostering collaboration, facilitating interdisciplinary research and introducing interdisciplinary chemistry education on all levels.
At the chemical level, life is controlled by the interactions and dynamics of biomolecules like nucleotides, proteins, and metabolites. Recent advances in research techniques have enabled us to better detect, predict, and control the dynamics, structures, and interactions of these molecules at the atomic level in biological systems. Within the centre, we aim to establish an international network across traditional research disciplines to gain a deeper understanding of the chemical mechanisms that sustain live. The centre hosts open seminars and courses on the chemistry of life.
