About the course
In the course, you will learn to identify fungi collected in the field, and it also includes the ability to describe and preserve the fungi for future identification and microscopy. This is a suitable course if you are interested in field inventories and conservation biology.
The course is given as two weeks of web-based teaching on theory and preparatory studies for practical fieldwork and a boarding week with fieldwork. The theory part of the course is examined by a project assignment, and the practical part is through mandatory attendance and identification exams during the boarding week.
Outline for distance course: The course has a mandatory boarding week with fieldwork, preliminary September 14-20 2025. Teaching takes place through Zoom meetings/lectures, email and various course forums. Access to a computer with a stable internet connection and a web camera is required. Communication between teachers and students takes place on Zoom. We use Studium for course information.
