Uppsala University Master's scholarships
Scholarships are available each year for fee-paying international students applying for an international Master's programme at Uppsala University. Please note that the scholarships are highly competitive; only about 2% of those who apply are granted a scholarship. The scholarships available for application may vary from year to year.

Uppsala University Global Scholarship
Open to
Citizens of countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland.
About the scholarship
The Uppsala University Global Scholarship is funded by the Swedish Council for Higher Education, the government agency responsible for overseeing Swedish higher education.
This scholarship covers the full tuition fee for an international Master's programme at Uppsala University. Please note that it does not cover living expenses.

Master’s programmes.
Eligibility criteria
- You must be a citizen of a country outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland.
- You must demonstrate academic talent and show interest in being in an educational environment.
- You can only be awarded an Uppsala University Global Scholarship for a Master’s programme at Uppsala University chosen as first priority (the programme which you have ranked the highest of the four programmes you can choose at University Admissions).
- You must have applied for the Master's programme before the University Admissions deadline.
- You must meet the entry requirements for the Master’s programme you applied for. The application fee and your complete supporting documents must be received by University Admissions before the deadline.
Anders Wall's Scholarship for Studies at Uppsala University

Citizens of a country in Africa.
About the scholarship
The Anders Wall Scholarship is supported by contributions from The Beijer Foundation and Uppsala University. Anders Wall, Chairman of the Beijer Foundation, is a Swedish entrepreneur and businessman. Since its launch in 2012, the scholarship has supported students from various countries and is currently available to students from African nations.
This scholarship covers the full tuition fee for an international Bachelor's or Master's programme at Uppsala University. Please note that it does not cover living expenses.

Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes.
Eligibility criteria
- You must be a citizen of a country in Africa.
- You must demonstrate academic talent and show interest in being in an educational environment.
- You can only be awarded an Anders Wall Scholarship for a degree programme at Uppsala University chosen as first priority (the programme which you have ranked the highest of the programmes you can choose at University Admissions).
- You must have applied for the Bachelor's or Master's programme before the University Admissions deadline.
- You must meet the entry requirements for the programme you applied to. The application fee and your complete supporting documents must be received by University Admissions before the deadline.
The King Carl Gustaf Scholarship
Open to
Citizens of Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Malawi, Mexico, Mongolia, Myanmar, Palestine, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria and Ukraine.
About the scholarship
Uppsala University established the King Carl Gustaf Scholarship as a gift to King Carl XVI Gustaf on his 70th birthday. It has been offered since 2016 and is aimed towards students whose academic pursuits has been hindered due to natural conflicts or political unrest. The list of eligible countries is reviewed annually to reflect political and geographical changes worldwide.
This scholarship covers the full tuition fee for an international Master's programme at Uppsala University. Please note that it does not cover living expenses.

Eligibility criteria
- You must be a citizen of one of the following countries: Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Malawi, Mexico, Mongolia, Myanmar, Palestine, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria and Ukraine.
- You must show why you are particularly vulnerable and therefore in need of the educational environment at Uppsala University, as well as that you have the academic talent required.
- You can only be awarded a King Carl Gustaf scholarship for a Master’s programme at Uppsala University chosen as first priority (the programme which you have ranked the highest of the four programmes you can choose at University Admissions).
- You must have applied for the Master's programme before the University Admissions deadline.
- You must meet the entry requirements for the programme you applied to. The application fee and your complete supporting documents must be received by University Admissions before the deadline.
Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong Scholarship

Citizens of the Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong.
About the scholarship
This scholarship is awarded in the name of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong to students who are citizens of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.
The scholarship covers part of the tuition fee for one academic year of studies at Uppsala University (approximately 40,000 SEK per academic year, or 20,000 SEK per semester). Please note that it does not cover living expenses.

Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes.
Eligibility criteria
- You must have a valid passport of the Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong.
- You can only be awarded a scholarship for a degree programme at Uppsala University chosen as first priority (the programme which you have ranked the highest of the programmes you can choose at University Admissions).
- You must meet the entry requirements for the programme you applied to. The application fee and your complete supporting documents must be received by University Admissions before the deadline.
- You must have applied for the Bachelor's or Master's programme before the University Admissions deadline.
- You must demonstrate academic talent and show interest in being in an educational environment.
Restrictions
Students admitted to the following programmes are not eligible for a scholarship:
- Joint Nordic Master's Programme in Environmental Law
- Master's Programme in Biology NABiS Nordic Master in Biodiversity and Systematics
- Master's Programme in Implementation, Transformative Learning and Sustainability
- Master's Programme in Religion in Peace and Conflict
- Master's Programme in Transformative Game Design
- Master's Programme in Turkic Studies
