My research focuses on the biological characterization of biomaterials for bone regeneration, particularly 3D printed magnesium-based biomaterials, and the creation of advanced in vitro tissue models.

I graduated magna cum laude from the University of L’Aquila with a Master's degree in Molecular and Cellular Biotechnology, where I focused on developing novel contrast agents for MRI. I then completed an Erasmus+ traineeship at Uppsala University, working with the Translational PET Imaging group on clinical PET imaging analysis of GLP1R.
I am currently pursuing a Marie Curie PhD in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Uppsala University, but I am also affiliated with the Department of Medical Cell Biology. I am part of the Marie Curie “BioTrib” consortium as an early-stage researcher, collaborating with several universities such as Imperial College London and ETH Zurich.
Forskning
Denna text finns inte på svenska, därför visas den engelska versionen.
My expertise is in regenerative medicine, where I focus on testing the biological compatibility of biomaterials, particularly for bone regeneration. I specialize in evaluating how different biomaterials interact with cells in vitro, using co-culture systems to study the response of various cell types. This allows me to assess the materials’ potential for promoting tissue repair and ensuring their suitability for regenerative applications.
