Leena Avotie

Leena Avotie is a researcher and lecturer at the department. Her research interests concern leadership and gender issues and she teaches courses in organisational behaviour, organisation theory and leadership.

Leena Avotie is lecturer at the department of Business Studies. She earned her Ph.D. from Uppsala University in 1998. Her research interests concern leadership and gender issues. Her research has focused in particular on gender-related value systems and sex typing of managerial positions, recruitment and mentoring.

Leena Avotie teaches courses in organisational behaviour, organisation theory and leadership. She is also a thesis advisor. During the past decade she has worked with managerial duties at the department, but has now returnes to teaching and research. By the side of her work at the department she is also member of board in Saarioinen Oy, Finland, which is a family own business.
