Backup and Restore
The University IT Services offers the departments of Uppsala University to back up their computers over the computer network and store the data at a central backup system.
This is a simple and inexpensive solution, where the IT Division takes care of the operation backup equipment and makes sure the storage capacity is sufficient. The backup is done over the data network and may be started automatically.
The following pages inform about the backup system, how it works and pricing information. You can also find help to apply for a backup account, and with installation and configuration of the Spectrum Protect client.
The central backup system is based on Spectrum Protect (former TSM).

Do you have questions about backup or the routines of secure data storage? The simplest way to get in contact with those, who are administrating the backup system is to write e-mail to: backup-admin@uu.se. Your e-mail will be sent to all Backup Administrators and they will take care of your request.
