We welcome visiting scholars at the centre. We can provide a desk and an inspiring academic environment. However, we are unable to provide funding for travel or accommodation.

Visiting scholars in 2025

During 2025, we were happy to host several guest that contributed to our research environment, including:

• Helena Machado, Research Professor at Center for Research and Studies (CIES-Iscte), University Institute of Lisbon, Portugal. From September 2025 through May 2026, she will spend a total of three months at the Centre. The visit is funded by Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), through the FCT Mobility Programme (grant no. FCT/Mobility/1334522303/2024-25), titled “Face Work and Ethical Futures: Interrogating AI, Biometric Data, and Public Participation at the Intersection of Health and Surveillance.”
• Monia Torre, Institute for Research on Population and Social Policies – National Research Council, Italy, visited the Centre for Research Ethics & Bioethics (CRB) at Uppsala University for three weeks, starting 24 August 2025. The stay was part of CNR’s Short-Term Mobility programme.
