Research ethics & academic integrity
We develop knowledge about the laws, regulations and ethical guidelines that govern research through research, education, link libraries and information. We also play an active role in Uppsala University's work to develop good research practice.

A spotlight on research ethics
We support the development of ethical guidelines and recommendations for decision-makers in research, development and clinical practice. We identify ethical challenges in research practice, and explore questions raised by researchers. Through empirical work, we explore how different stakeholders view ethical challenges. We also create tools to manage research ethics, academic integrity, and promote good research practice.
The researcher as expert
We provide expertise and respond to referrals and government inquiries. The Centre plays an important role in the University's efforts to promote good research practice, and we participate actively in the discussion on the national level.
Our researchers engage in the public debate on ethics review and other questions related to research ethics. We also provide expertise in both national and international contexts. The Centre contributes the critical mass required to manage ethical concerns in large European collaborative projects, where our efforts contribute to developing ethical competence for a new generation of researchers, scientists and engineers.
