Five researchers from Uppsala University are on Clarivate’s “Highly Cited Researchers” list, which covers the most cited researchers worldwide.
The list is based on analyses of citation data from the Web of Science Core Collection. Only those researchers who have been cited by other researchers most (the top 1 per cent) over the past eleven years qualify for the list. When researchers refer to one another’s work, this provides an indication of who has written the scholarly articles considered most significant and useful. The list includes a total of 7,131 researchers in the natural sciences, medicine, social sciences and humanities.
Swedish higher education institutions have 69 researchers on the list. Five of them are employed at Uppsala University:
Dan I. Andersson, Professor at the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Microbiology
Christer Betsholtz, Professor at the Department of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology
Tommy Cederholm, Professor Emeritus at the Department of Public Health and Caring Sciences
Susanna Larsson, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Surgical Sciences
Therese Pettersson, Research Coordinator at the Department of Peace and Conflict Research
