Internal steering group for Uppsala University’s jubilee campaign

In 2027 Uppsala University will be 550 years old. With our world facing many complex challenges, it is critical to further strengthen the University’s research, education, culture and cultural heritage by broadening our external network and finding new and additional sources of funding. Our aim in so doing is to further enhance the University’s continued ability to contribute to the development of society.

With the 550th anniversary on the horizon, the Vice-Chancellor has launched a jubilee campaign: “Boundless knowledge – since 1477”. The campaign is addressed to everyone who is willing and able to contribute to the continued research-based development of society and the University’s culture and cultural heritage.

To support this campaign, the Vice-Chancellor has established an external campaign committee and an internal steering group.

Role of the internal steering group

The internal steering group is responsible for overseeing and promoting the overall direction and development of Uppsala University’s strategic and operational activities in connection with the jubilee campaign, and to support the campaign in general by providing advice, promoting internal awareness and approval, and following up on issues including:

  • Objects of philanthropic support
  • Regulatory and ethical considerations
  • Communication and branding
  • Staffing and budget
  • Policies and processes

Positions to take and choices to make will be raised with the steering group prior to decisions on the initiative of the chief rapporteur or chair.
