Finding your MAC address
MAC address (Media Access Control address) is a unique serial number that is on all network adapters. This number is assigned to the card associated with the production and the number has certain characteristics:
- It should be 12 characters long
- They indicated in pairs separated by a dash (-) or colon (:)
- The numbers are 0-9
- The letters are A-F. Other letters cannot be found in a MAC address
- There is no difference between large and small letters
- The MAC address is also called physical address or hardware address
When troubleshooting, you might be asked what the MAC address you have.
