Supervising oral presentations - in theory and in practice

About the course
Would you like to learn more about how you can help students improve their oral presentation skills? The purpose of the course is to give teachers insight into the process of giving and receiving feedback, as well as how to identify and evaluate different parts of an oral presentation. Methods and theories of oral communication and feedback will be introduced and discussed.
During the course, participants will practice giving concrete and direct feedback on student presentations. In addition, participants will prepare and give their own short, filmed presentations and provide each other with peer-feedback. This course is aimed at teachers, PhD-students, and researchers supervising oral presentations.
Preparations required: A smaller assignment will be handed in before course start and we will send out a short paper that we will discuss during the course. More information will be mailed later to registered participants.
Participants will receive certificates upon completion of the course.
Format
We meet on the Ångström campus for three days. Course participants also complete some assignments and read an article before the start of the course, equivalent to half a day.
