Annual activities

Student recruitment is constantly evolving to keep pace with the needs of the target audience, media habits and analysis of results. This means that the activities carried out may vary from year to year. However, the following activities are carried out annually.

International Google advertising

Every autumn, an international search engine advertising campaign is carried out on Google. This is carried out in around 40 countries and captures searches on subjects where Uppsala University offers programmes.

National recruitment campaign

Every year, a social media campaign is conducted on the concept of 'Hela Sveriges universitet'. The campaign films are renewed every three years and the channels are chosen based on where the target group is in a given year.

SACO Student Fair

This is the largest education fair in our vicinity and runs for three days every year in November. We participate with a large stand, 40 student ambassadors and many study counsellors.

Welcome reception in Uppsala

A welcome reception for new students is organised every year in the last week before the start of the semester. In Uppsala, there is an international reception in English and one in Swedish. Both receptions are held in the University Main Building.

Welcome reception in Visby

In Visby, a welcome reception for new students will be held in the church ruins of S:t Nicolaus on the first day of term. Led by the Knights of Knowledge, all new students march from the Student Union on Campus Gotand, Rindi, to the church ruins.

Support to prospective students and applicants

Throughout the recruitment process, which lasts almost a year, useful information is sent by email to prospective students and applicants. The information provided varies depending on where the prospective student is in the decision-making process. The mailings are aimed at enabling them to make an informed decision to proceed further in the recruitment process and apply, accept an offered place, etc.
