About the course
Doctoral studies are a long-term endeavor that places high demands on both intellect and endurance. If your workload and stress begin to affect your commitment to your research, it may be a sign that you need tools to manage the situation.
This course gives you the opportunity to pause, reevaluate, and build a more sustainable approach to your work. It is designed specifically for doctoral students and offers practical strategies for dealing with the challenges you face.
Target Group
PhD Students who feel that stress affects them in a negative way and who wish to gain more knowledge, support and tools in changing their situation and find a better balance between work, leisure and private life.
A Course in 5 Sessions
Instead of just talking about stress, we will actively build the skills to manage it.
You will learn to:
- Session 1: Understand the basics of the stress response to work with your body, not against it.
- Session 2: Integrate powerful recovery and mindfulness techniques to restore your energy.
Optional in-depth study after completing sessions 1 and 2
- Session 3: Reconnect with your values to create a true sense of work-life balance.
- Session 4: Effectively handle the difficult thoughts and feelings that fuel self-doubt.
- Session 5: Confidently set boundaries to protect your time and well-being and develop a personal action plan to ensure your new skills stick for the long term.
A Practical, Evidence-Based Approach
The course is built on a foundation of proven therapeutic models (CBT and ACT) and focuses on active, hands-on participation. Through guided exercises and shared discussions with peers, you will develop concrete, "here-and-now" strategies to make an immediate difference.
If there are too few participants, the training may be canceled or rescheduled.
The HR-Division will cover the cost of the course.
A formal invitation will be sent one week before our first session.
