Read all the details on the Erasmus website.
There is also information on UHR:s website (Swedish Council for Higher Education).
KA2 is not handled centrally at Uppsala University (UU), but on departmental level. This means that it is each department that makes a decision about participating in a KA2 project. It is the department that administers the project.
Uppsala University may, via a department, participate in a KA2 project either as a coordinator or as partner.
- Coordinator: UU/the department is responsible for submitting the project application and reporting the project to the EU
- Partner: UU/the department participates in the project as a partner
- Usually, a project needs to have partners from programme countries (= Erasmus country) and partner countries (= country outside the Erasmus programme)
- Financing: The UU department may have to co-fund the project, since the approved funds often do not cover all costs related to the project. It is also important to consider overhead costs that may arise for the department.
These countries are part of the Erasmus programme:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czechia, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey
To find out more, including information about partner countries outside the Erasmusprogramme, see the website.

KA2: Application
Usually, the deadline to submit the application is in the beginning of the year, often in February.
In the application, the applying organization enters information about participating partners, describes the project and motivates the amount applied for. One particular type of information usually needed, is the OID number (an identifying number) of the participating organisations.
For Uppsala University the OID is E10209437.
The applying organization is the university that coordinates the projects and is responsible for the handling of the project. This includes budget, handling of mobilities and activities, payments of project funds, document handling and reporting of the project in EU:s application portal EU Funding & Tenders Portal.
Project documents:
- If the application is approved, a contract is to be signed by all partners. It is signed inside the EU portal. It is common that each partner has a Project Financial Signatory and a Project Legal Signatory. For assistance in this matter, contact the Division for Research and Partnership Support at fos@uu.se. Also contact fos@uu.se to receive the internal form for EU projects and support connected to signing agreements.
- It is sometimes necessary for the project coordinator to gather mandates from each project partner to include in the application. This document should be signed by a legal representative.
- The project coordinator also usually includes a Declaration on Honour in the application. This document should also be signed by the legal representative of the coordinator.
