Klinisk neurofysiologi

Forskningen vid klinisk neurofysiologi är translationell och fokuserar på att optimera neurofysiologiska parametrar för diagnostik och uppföljning av sjukdomar i perifera och centrala nervsystemet. Vi har ett prekliniskt lab med en metod för att detaljerat mäta extracellulära signaler från muskel- och nervceller för att bättre kartlägga sjukdomsmekanismer.
Beskrivning av vår forskning
Några exempel på pågående projekt är biomarkörutveckling vid myasthenia gravis (MG), muskelultraljud vid myopatier och analys av mekanismerna som resulterar i störd neuromuskulär samt neuronal signalering vid autoimmuna sjukdomar såsom MG. Till forskargruppen hör även ett flertal kliniska läkare och forskare som arbetar med olika projekt inom metodutveckling för diagnostik och uppföljning. Dessa projekt syftar bland annat till att förbättra lokaliseringen av epileptiska foci samt utveckla nya metoder inom intraoperativ övervakning och under intensivvård.
