Change of parking provider on campus in Uppsala
From 23 March 2026, Smart Parkering AB, formerly Aimo Park, will be responsible for parking operations at the parking facilities owned by Akademiska Hus.
The locations of the parking areas, which areas require permits, and the parking fees will remain unchanged.
As few adjustments as possible will be made in connection with the transition to Smart Parkering in order to make the change as smooth as possible for you as users. However, some changes may occur over time.
Payment options
From 23 March, parking can be paid for via Smart Parkering’s own app,
SmartPark, via SMS payment, or through the EasyPark app. SmartPark does not include any additional administrative fee, while using EasyPark entails a surcharge of 15 percent. Most ticket machines on campus will be removed.
The option to purchase a 30-day ticket will be temporarily removed during the transition period and replaced with a 7-day ticket at a reduced price (equivalent to the 30-day ticket). This is to ensure that you do not pay for more days than you can use, as tickets purchased from Aimo Park will become invalid on 23 March. The option to purchase a 30-day ticket will be reinstated on 23 March.
For those who currently have a subscription or agreement with Aimo Park
For GDPR reasons, no automatic transfer of existing agreements or subscriptions will be made to the new parking provider. All existing agreements and subscriptions with Aimo Park will automatically end on 22 March.
Those of you who currently have a subscription through Aimo Park will therefore need to sign new agreements with Smart Parkering.
To purchase a 30-day ticket or a monthly subscription
To purchase a 30-day ticket or a monthly subscription for an unreserved space, you must still be able to identify yourself as a student at Uppsala University. A 30-day ticket automatically expires after 30 days. Monthly subscriptions for unreserved spaces renew automatically each month.
Identify yourself with a digital decal
The identification process will change and, after the transition, will be handled using a digital decal that you purchase via a special code for students.
Using the code, you can purchase the digital decal "Student, Uppsala University" free of charge in the SmartPark app or via the SmartParking website.
The decal allows you to purchase a 30-day ticket as well as a monthly
subscription for an unreserved space. Without the decal, you can only purchase parking by the hour or for 15 hours of parking.
The decal is valid for a limited period. When it expires, a new decal must be obtained using the current code. The code is updated every six months and must not be shared with others.
