Digital note-taking support

If you are unable to take notes yourself during lectures due to a disability, you may be granted note-taking support. This support is provided either through a fellow student sharing their notes or through a digital note-taking tool.

The information below concerns the digital note-taking support provided by the University through a tool called Genio Notes.

About Genio Notes

Digital note-taking support is primarily intended for lectures. Whether it may be used during other teaching sessions depends on the structure of the course and on whether recording is considered appropriate in the specific situation. Information about whether recording is permitted should be available in the schedule in TimeEdit.

Genio Notes can be used on your computer, mobile phone or tablet. You record the audio from a teaching session and then receive a transcript and a summary of the content. You can also supplement the material with your own notes and images.

The tool also allows you to work actively with your notes both during and after the lecture, for example by making short notes or adding images. This can be useful if the teacher writes formulas or draws diagrams on the board.

The note-taking support is intended for personal use only. This means that you may not share or distribute any material obtained through Genio Notes.

The Genio Notes interface is available in English. However, the tool can be used for both Swedish- and English-language teaching. If you use the Google Chrome web browser, you can also translate the interface using the browser’s built-in translation feature.
